Jo Cooksley holds an M.A. in School Administration, a B.A. in Elementary and Special Education, and is Washington State and ACSI certified. Mrs. Cooksley has served in the public and private school sectors as a summer camp director, elementary and special education teacher, and assistant principal. She has been actively teaching and serving children for over 20 years. She has also served on an accreditation team for Association of Christian Schools International. Mrs. Cooksley is happily married to Mark, an elementary counselor, and she has two children. Mrs. Cooksley loves working with children and women in Bible studies and church retreats. Her entire family enjoys being part of South Sound Christian Schools.

Judy has been a part of New Hope since 1986 when her first of three children started Kindergarten. All three of Mrs. Sherman's children attended New Hope through sixth grade and then went onto graduate from Tacoma Baptist Schools. Mrs. Sherman joined the New Hope team in 1993 and served as Office Manager for many years. In 2005 she became School Manager and has served in that capacity to present. She has received most of her Christian Education through ACSI. Judy and her husband, Mike have been very active in children and youth ministries for over 30 years. Judy loves the Lord and serving Him in whatever capacity He has for her, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading Christian biographies, Bible Studies, gardening, and serving her community through her church and South Sound Christian Schools.

Cindy Beauchamp has taught at New Hope Christian School for 13 years, teaching both Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten. She has her Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and a two-year Bible College degree. Cindy and her husband moved to the Pacific Northwest from California 16 years ago to help start a church in the Puyallup area. She is very involved with her church, serving on the Ladies Ministries Team. She has four children, all who have attended both New Hope and Tacoma Baptist. Two of her children are now in college and two of them are in high school at the Tacoma campus. Cindy loves teaching and has a passion not only for training children academically, but also in the love and knowledge of Jesus.

Kiersten Stimets has been called to the ministry of teaching Kindergarten at New Hope Christian school since 2000. Kiersten has a B.A. in Psychology and is ACSI certified. Kiersten enjoys training up young ones in the Lord so that they may grow in faith, knowledge and have skills to think of others before themselves. Kiersten enjoys crafts, coffee and traveling. She is married and has one son. As a family, they enjoy soccer, outdoor activities and attend Graham Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Illeane Taylor has served at New Hope Christian School since opening day, September 1982. She earned her bachelors degree in Education from Greenville College, Greenville Illinois in 1979. Illeane has taught Prekindergarten, Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade and Third Grade. She has been blessed to watch New Hope grow over the years and see former students return to bring their children to our school. Illeane has two grown children, a beautiful daughter in-law, wonderful son in-law and two darling grandchildren ages seven and three.

Kim Carroll began her teaching career at New Hope in 1987. She taught for three years and then worked as a special education teacher for three additional years. She was then blessed to be home with her growing family for the next eight years. Kim returned to New Hope in 2000 as a pre-K teacher. She has taught 1st-4th grade. She has a Bachelors of Art from Seattle Pacific University in Elementary and Special Education. She also received a Master's Degree from Pacific Lutheran University. Kim is blessed with three children who have all attended New Hope and Tacoma Baptist Schools. Kim and her husband, Howard, have been married for 23 years.

Stephanie Cook joined the New Hope teaching staff in August, 1996. She has taught grades 3, 4, and 5 in New Hope classrooms over the past thirteen years. Stephanie has taught primary and elementary grades for a total of eighteen years. Attending Pacific Lutheran University, Stephanie earned a BA degree in education. During her senior year of college, she married her sweetheart and husband, Ralph Cook. Currently their daughter, Melissa, teaches English to elementary, high school, and adult students in Russia. Their son, Daniel, attends Tacoma Community College, and their son, Stephen, is a senior at Tacoma Baptist High School. Stephanie shares,"It is exciting to explore the Scriptures with young children and see their lives transformed by it."

Andrea Brazile has taught at New Hope Christian School for 5 years. She has been an educator for over 25 years. She graduated from Northwest Christian University in Eugene Oregon with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Educational Ministries. Mrs. Brazile's joy is teaching young hearts and minds to discover God's love and plan for each of their lives.
Sixth Grade & PE

Diana Moberly has been teaching 6th grade and P.E. at the New Hope Campus for the past three years. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in liberal arts from The Evergreen State College in 1989, and her Master's Degree in Education from The University of Washington, Tacoma, in 2009. Diana believes that she is blessed to be able to serve the families of New Hope both as a teacher and fellow parent. Her son Jacob is a freshman at the Tacoma Baptist campus, and her daughter Megan started Clover Park Technical College this fall. Diana enjoys reading and spending time with her husband Steve. They attend Real Life Family Center.

Amanda Hinz is the instrumental and general music teacher at Tacoma Baptist Schools and New Hope Christian School. This is her third year teaching in South Sound Christian Schools. Amanda received her degree in music education at Pacific Lutheran University in 2004, and is currently working toward a master's degree in education at The Master's College in Santa Clarita, CA. Miss Hinz loves to show her students the enjoyment of participative music making. In her spare time, Miss Hinz enjoys camping, hiking, and reading.
